Udham Singh was an Indian revolutionary and independence activist. He is remembered for assassinating Michael O'Dwyer in London in 1940, in retaliation for the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre, for which he was tried and executed. He is regarded as a martyr in the Indian independence movement.
