Delete your account

Last updated 13 September 2026

This page is for Celeb Diary — Celebrity Birthdays (Android package com.dhwiti.app.celebdiary) and this website, celeb-diary.dhwiti.com — made and run by Dhwiti.com, Ahmedabad, India.

You can delete your account, and everything in it, yourself — in the app or on this website, in about thirty seconds. If you have already uninstalled the app, email us and we will do it for you.

1. On this website

  1. Sign in with the same Google account.
  2. Open Your account.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and press Delete account.
  4. Read what will go, tick the box to confirm, and press Delete my account.

2. In the Android app

  1. Open Celeb Diary on your phone.
  2. Open the menu (top left) and tap Account.
  3. Tap Delete account at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Confirm. The app signs you out as soon as it is done.

3. If you no longer have the app

You do not need to install anything to be forgotten. Email feedback@dhwiti.com from the email address you signed in with, with the subject “Delete my Celeb Diary account”. We use the sending address to find the account — it is the only way we can be sure we are deleting the right one — and we act on it within 7 days.

4. What happens straight away

There is no waiting period and no grace period. The moment you confirm, your data is erased from our servers and your sign-in is removed from Google Firebase, the service that handles logging in. You are signed out, and the account no longer exists.

5. What is deleted

Everything that belongs to you:

  • your account itself — your name, email address and profile picture;
  • My birthdays — every private birthday you entered, with its note, its reminder and every photo you uploaded to it, removed from our servers as files too;
  • every celebrity you saved or followed;
  • every comment you wrote, on a celebrity, on a photo or on a news story;
  • every like you gave a photo or a story, and your votes on celebrity suggestions;
  • your quiz scores, your chosen interests, and your notification settings;
  • the reminder registration for your phone, so notifications stop.

6. What stays, and why

Two things are kept with every trace of you removed from them — not your data any more, and nothing in them can be traced back to you or used to bring the account back:

  • Celebrities you suggested we add. A suggestion is about a public figure, not about you, and other people may have voted for it. Your name and email address are erased from it; the suggestion itself stays on the editors' list.
  • Counts. Our own totals — how many times a page was opened, how often a name was searched for — keep their numbers. The identifiers that tied any of it to a person are erased.

Backups are kept for a short time as ordinary practice and roll off on their own schedule.

7. It cannot be undone

There is no way back — not by signing in again, not by asking us. Signing in with the same Google account afterwards starts a brand new, empty account. So if you want to keep anything, save it before you delete: your private birthdays and their photos exist nowhere else.

If you only want the reminders to stop, you do not have to delete anything — turn notifications off in the app's Settings instead.
