Atal Bihari Vajpayee was an Indian statesman and poet who served as the Prime Minister of India three times, including a full term from 1999 to 2004. A founding member and leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party, he was a long-serving parliamentarian known for his oratory. His government oversaw the 1998 nuclear tests and major infrastructure initiatives.
