Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar was an Indian jurist, economist, social reformer and political leader who chaired the drafting committee of the Constitution of India and served as independent India's first Law and Justice Minister. A champion of the rights of Dalits and other marginalised communities, he campaigned against caste discrimination and later embraced Buddhism with many followers.
